IRS Form 1040 Course/program number: RIPSY-T-00022-23-S Course Description: The Form 1040 is the most used tax form in the United States. It is the official documents that taxpayers are required to use to report their annual income and taxes paid for the year. It is divided into several sections and further subdivided by lines which will be introduced and or discussed in this course. Target Audience Enrolled Agents and other tax return preparers Category Federal Tax Related Matters Learning objective At the end of this course the tax preparer will be able to; Explain the value of each line on the 1040. Calculate a taxpayer's taxable income. Identify a taxpayer's adjusted gross income. Explain the difference between standard deduction and itemized deduction. Explain when a taxpayer needs to make estimated tax payments. Duration This varies per person as this is a self-led course, however, everyone has one year, from the date of registration, to complete this course. Outline of Assessment Quizzes: There will be three quizzes after each unit to test your knowledge of the unit. These assessments will not be graded. Test: This course will have 35 multiple-choice questions. Participants must receive a score of 70% or higher to receive credit for this course. You will have an unlimited number of chances to pass this exam. Certificate of Completion: You will receive a certificate of completion as soon as you have passed the test for this course.
